Saint Germain Axis

2007 I bought at ebay.fr by auction a R15TL engine – End of Juli Senta und I set off to to get it . Via Basel to Chaumont all went good, then the engine started to stutter and frecuently went off. Senta and i made a stop at a company area where i cleaned the carburator. But, it came out next morning, it was not the cause. At a friendly Renault repair shop i did dismanled and cleaned first the fuel pump – but it didn’t help. Next i pressed air trough the fuel tube back to the tank, but after a testride it wasnn’t better anway. Back at the repair shop i unscrewded the fitting and did drain the tank, then there the cause was found – it was a small piece of silicon. I was happy but soaked with petrol.
Then we headed foreward via Troyes to Saint Germain Axis where we arived on time to load the engine, additionally i got also the gearbox (Entreprise STB Briday JF SARL à 77950 Saint-Germain-Laxis ). For the night we found a place on a camping near Samois-Sur-Seine.

The Next day we crossed the Parc régional du Morvan and saw a lot interesting things.
After Auxerre, in Escolives-Sainte-Camille, at the the Site archeologique Gallo-Romaines, we made a stop. A kind museum supervisor told us a lot about the long during Gallic-Roman relationship – ich was allowed to ask in german and she answered in french 🙂

Then next day i bought some red wine in Santenay and – at a side trip to Chatel-Moron – met a dutch family with a Citroen HY and capital engine crash.
They already called a service and we couldn’t help so went ahead via Macon und Bour-on-Bresse to the lake of Genevea, In Essertet stand an interesting VW bus with an GRP roof – thought at a first glance it is a VW-Estafette Conversion 🙂
At a super marché we met a very kind guy which was working on a nearby highway construction – he invited us to spend the night at a farm near Margencel.

Next day we drove up the Wallis, Simplon with tailwind, trough Domodossola and Centovalli and arived the valley of Vercasca – for a visit to a friends place. On the way back over San Bernadino route we “outperformed” a german Barkas Bus. On pass hight two nice Trabant’s was awaiting the Barkas.
