Exhaust System Second Version
The second silencer version, probably installed from 1969,
is no longer available. Only the first and third
versions (1977 – 1980) are available at Vehicule Ancien:

Sometimes you can still find the middle connecting pipe from old stock
I have not yet discovered front- and rear silencers anywhere.
The existing front sinlencer was actually still healthy – except for the two connectors. . . . . .
On Ebay a Renault Floride silencer was offered for 85 EUR which easily can be adapted. . . . . . . .
Middle Silencer
I was trying to save the front silencer. Looking for suitable weld-in connectors, I have found BOSAL pipe connectors with outer 45 / inner 48 (unfortunately none with 45/45 ) – but with a bit Saturday home-crafting it would work I thought – just with the anvil and some patience 🙂
The form of the sockets/reduction pieces offer the possibility to propperly seal the plugged-in pipe
Floride Silencer
The Floride silencer had a chrome-plated tailpipe
Almost too bad to cut it off – maybe one can use it somewhere else – so it was to saw both tailpipes and weld the old one to the new Floride pot,
Then remove the fastening strap and also weld it to the floride pot
The result is good, everything is tight – maybe the Floride pot is a bit louder than the original – but certainly not a problem with the MFK 🙂
Conique connection
Conical exhaust connections were common in the past, especially within French vehicles. In the Estafette the exhaust manyfold has such a connection with a double cone. Maximum Ø is approx. 57mm, Minimum Ø is approx. 44mm. Average diameter is about 47-49mm
Double Cone Clamp
With exhaust complete sets included or available from individual offers, you often see cheap clamps pressed from sheet metal.
What kind of clamps were installed ex factory I do not know
Our Louise, however, is fitted with a cast clamp – it is a very precise fit and I never had problems with tightness – it is also much easier to mount – see pictures (screws are pressed in !!)
There are similar clamps to buy, in England for Morris cars and in FR/DE/NL for the Citroen 2CV’s
The 2CVs have a 47mm and a 49mm version. – 47/49 are the outher diameters but Estafette has outher diameter = 57 mm
So both versions are NOT suitable for Estafette. ( I bought one)
If someone knows a source for 57/49 – please let me know
Exhaust Pipe Cone Repair
The cone on my couchette was oval shaped and could hardly get tight.
At ebay. de found a suitable repair piece
